Make Your Own Electrolyte Energy Drink

Gatorade, PowerAde, electrolyte pumped-up sports drinks… they’re good for you, right? You see athletes chugging down bottles of the neon-colored liquid in every ad and real life, surely they do something, and they do. They help you maintain your body’s balance of electrolytes during or after periods of heavy exercise. But when you look closer, you’re really just paying an outrageous price for glorified, brightly colored, sugar water. An overload of processed and refined sweetener (in the case of sports drinks, high-fructose corn syrup) is never a good thing. And while artificial flavors and colors don’t technically do much for your health, a part of me just shies away from the idea of ingesting things that are “fake.”
We’ve been led to believe by certain companies that we need an extra-special drink to recover from some sweat. First of all, there is a huge difference between athletes that work out hardcore for hours, and those dedicated to fifteen minute morning workout routines. Secondly, our bodies are smart, staying well hydrated and eating healthy is usually enough to maintain a balance of electrolytes. For those times that you do have a heavier workout though, make your own sports drink. It’s easy, quick, and naturally refreshing.
Ingredients: Lemons, limes, oranges, salt, honey, water, coconut water, sugar, strawberries.
Why the ingredients: There isn’t much need to delve into why each ingredient is included. They all fall under the blanket statement of being a good source of electrolytes, tasty, or both.

DENGUE AS A BURNING ISSUE

Only the female of Aedes aegypti feeds on blood because of protein requirement found in human blood to produce eggs while male mosquito feeds on plant nectar. On average a Dengue fever also known as break bone fever. It is an infectious tropical disease caused by dengue virus. The mosquito responsible for dengue is Aedes aegypti including most species of mosquito. Dengue Fever (DF) and Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) are the most common mosquito borne viral disease in the world. It can be fatal. It has one distinct feature physically having black and white strips on its body and legs. The mosquito bites during the day and lays its eggs in clean and stagnant water.
Female mosquito can lay eggs up to300 during its life span of 14-21 days.

Transmission of disease:
Mosquito bites and sucks blood containing the virus from an infected person and then transmits into a healthy one on biting. So, we can say that it acts as a vector for transmission.

BIOLOGY:
There are four types of dengue virus known as serotypes referred as DENV-1,DENV-2,DENV-3 and DENV-4.Dengue virus genome contains about 11,ooo nucleotide bases that code for 3 three different types of protein molecules(C,prM and E)

Symptoms:
1. High fever up to 105 F.
2. Headache
3. Muscle and joint pains
4. Skin rashes similar to measles
5. Bleeding from the nose and mouth.
It is an RNA virus of the family Flaviviridae and genus Flavivirus.

PREVENTIONS:
No specific vaccine is introduced yet.
Bed rest and hydration therapy.
Aspirin should be avoided because of anticoagulant properties.
Use of insecticides indoor.
Cover all toilet bowls in your home.
Turn over all water storage containers
The patient should consult the doctor as soon as possible and make laboratory tests not more than 90 rupees of tests.

CONCLUSION:
It has become an endemic disease causing a serious threat leading to death in severe cases. Now a day in Punjab due to steps being taken by the Government it has been overcome while last years there were a lot of cases in Punjab and worldwide. So, it needs preventions and precautions made by public and Government, There should be a proper awareness among people either through mass media or print media and also by the extension workers.

On the 2nd anniversary, Agri. Education Pakistan (AEP) published its first e-newsletter contain all the progress news and useful information regarding agriculture and environment. So, AEP gave a chance to all Pakistani agriculture and environment firms to promote their cause/product via AEP network. However due to specifications of publication only few ads were added on the first come basis, we appreciate all the respective firms who gave their ad/product/service information for e-newsletter. The crazy and admirable point is that, Agri. Education Pakistan sponsored all the ads and did not charge any dues for the service. This offer was introduced only with the spirit of public awareness regarding agriculture and the environment. It does not mean that AEP have not needed any sponsorship, in fact as the area of activities is going to expand the opportunities for sponsoring have also expanded. As AEP is the Pakistan’s first student based organization working in the central and southern Punjab, Pakistan regarding agriculture, environmental awareness and youth development, so the agriculture, environment and education related firms can promote their cause/product by sponsoring us and expand their client numbers with the expanding network of AEP.

Summary
Agri. Education Pakistan is the Pakistan’s first student based organization working in the central and particularly in the areas of southern Punjab. The activities were started from the Lahore in 2011 from a single website. Now the area of the activities is expanding day by day. This cooperative and networking tour is a milestone to ensure the consistent progress.
Bhakkar District (Urdu: ضِلع بهكّر‎) is a District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. The district was created in 1981 with Bhakkar city. With an area of 3,134 square miles (8,120 km2), most of it lies in the desolate plain of the Thal, but the Kachhi or strip of riparian land along the Indus is of great fertility. However it is in arid zone. Its area consists of a riparian tract along the Indus called Kacha and the Thal historically called Chol-e-Jalali. Most of its area comprises greater Thal. One of the old place in the district is Kallurkot. Kallurkot Tehsil (Urdu: تحصِيل كلُوركوٹ) is a Tehsil of Bhakkar District in Punjab, Pakistan. The city of Kallurkot is the headquarters of Kallurkot Tehsil an administrative subdivision of the district.

The main crop is cotton of the area. Mostly B.T Cotton is cultivated which has been banned but still under practice due to inefficiency or negligence of Govt. Agriculture Department. Farmers are facing the problems of black marketing of fertilizers, bogus pesticides, cotton Insect/pest, unavailability of soil nutrient test laboratory, unaligned water courses, scarcity of irrigation water for Rabi season, negligence of officials of Govt. Agriculture Dept. in Rodi and Hassanwala however, the pesticide companies rarely conduct programs for selling their product to the farmers,  environmental concerns regarding Chashma Nuclear Plant which is not so far from these areas, difficult access to certified seed and other inputs in the areas of Rodi and Hassanwala.
In Kallurkot farmers are usually poor to average, while in Rodi and Hassanwala farmers are comparatively average to progressive in the terms of socioeconomic status. The farmers of Rodi and Hassanwala are seemed to be more sophisticated than farmers of Kallurkot, as they are keen grower of organic crops for their kitchen. They avoid the vegetables from market of Kallurkot due to the usual practice of application of brackish water for vegetable field’s irrigation. Even some of them grow Barani varieties of wheat for their home. All the advancement, particularly in Hassanwala is achieved by the farmers on their own. Farmers are much conscious about the environmental hazards producing by the Chashma Nuclear Plant which is not so far from their fields.

The meetings with pesticide traders and official of the Govt. Agriculture Extension Dept. ended up with the surety of complete cooperation and coordination in the cause of Agri. Education Pakistan in the Dist. Bhakkar.
